Purnia/Patna, January 24, 2025

Today, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District Office in Purnia hosted a grand event to commemorate the 101st birth anniversary of India’s Bharat Ratna awardee, former Chief Minister of Bihar, and social justice pioneer, Jananayak Karpoori Thakur Ji. The event began with the lighting of the lamp and floral tributes to Karpoori Thakur Ji’s portrait by BJP State President Dr. Dilip Jaiswal. Senior leaders, party workers, and citizens participated in the program to pay homage to the great leader.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP State President and Bihar’s Minister of Revenue and Land Reforms, Dr. Dilip Jaiswal, paid his respects to Jananayak Karpoori Thakur Ji, stating:
"Jananayak Karpoori Thakur Ji devoted his entire life to fighting for the rights of the oppressed, deprived, and poor. He was the true torchbearer of social justice, who took historic steps to bring the backward and most backward classes into the mainstream. His simplicity, honesty, and dedication are an inspiration for every Indian."

He further said, "Karpoori Thakur Ji not only spread the message of social harmony throughout his life but also firmly established the principles of equality and inclusivity in society. His ideals continue to guide us to work towards empowering every section of society."

Highlighting Karpoori Thakur Ji’s contributions, Dr. Jaiswal added, "He made significant decisions to ensure justice for the poor, oppressed, and deprived. He introduced historic policies in education, healthcare, and employment sectors to empower backward communities. His Social Justice Policy and Equal Education System are still highly relevant today."

Dr. Jaiswal emphasized that Karpoori Thakur Ji’s simplicity and honesty serve as a role model for today’s public representatives and social workers. "His life exemplifies how strong willpower and commitment to public service can bring about positive changes in society," he said.

Dr. Dilip Jaiswal urged everyone to adopt Karpoori Thakur Ji’s ideals and work towards bringing development and justice to the last person in society, following his path.

The event was attended by Purnia Sadar MLA Shri Vijay Khemka, BJP District President Shri Manoj Singh, Vice President of the District Program Implementation Committee Shri Rakesh Kumar, along with several senior BJP leaders and hundreds of party workers.
